Mikayla Smith
Mikayla started her aerial journey in 2022 and was immediately hooked! She was at the studio more often than not, learning and ready to perfect every skill that was thrown her way! So with her knowledge of anatomy and deep understanding of the mechanics of silks and hammock, she has stepped up her practice by becoming a teacher in 2023! She loves dynamic movements, big drops and sequencing beautiful flows together for both apparatuses she teaches! While silks and hammock are her main apparatuses, you may also find her playing on hoop, trapeze and pole on any given day!
Mikayla prides herself on being a fun, encouraging, kind and hardworking person! Teaching has become such an amazing journey for her and she is always excited to introduce her passion to new clients.
She is always continuing her learning through hands on experience and has been certified by Spin City for Beginner Aerial Silks!
Outside of the aerial world, Mikayla is a mom of 2, loves coffee, quotes The Office a little too much, and enjoys crocheting!

Janessa Tendido
Jenessa has been part of the AcroFit community for the past five years. She first started as a student in silks and quickly fell in love with the creativity, strength, and challenge that aerial has to offer. After a year, she added hammock to her practice and has more recently started training in straps. She now coaches both silks and hammock.
What she loves most about aerial is that there is always something new to learn and a new way to challenge yourself. As a coach, Jenessa enjoys creating a welcoming environment where students can feel comfortable trying new things, celebrating the little wins, and building confidence along the way. She loves seeing students surprise themselves with what they are capable of and watching their skills grow over time.
Jenessa also has a background in Kinesiology and is completing her Master of Physical Therapy. Her passion for movement and understanding of the body naturally carry into her coaching, but her favourite part of teaching is connecting with students and helping them enjoy the process.
When she’s not at AcroFit, you can usually find Jenessa strength training, running, or spending even more time upside down!
Paula Gray
Paula took her first aerial silks class at Acrofit in 2017 and instantly found her new passion. After playing soccer competitively for most of her life, she was looking for a new and fun way to stay active. Having always been in awe of Cirque du Soleil acrobats, Paula knew that she had to give circus arts a try!
Paula is a Rehabilitation Assistant by day and started coaching in 2020 at Acrofit where she currently teaches aerials silks and aerial hammock. She has so much fun sharing her passion and helping others achieve their goals. The studio is her happy place and she loves to see her students come to know the studio as their happy place as well.
